Ilona Kuphal

Ilona knows that the Real Estate business is about people and about service. Nothing is more satisfying to her than to help somebody to fulfill his/her dream and to create win-win situations for everybody involved.
  
Ilona is a recognized and highly regarded Real Estate professional with 29 years’ experience in the Cambridge and Boston area markets. In addition to many successful years as an agent and branch office manager, she has also worked within the industry as a highly effective negotiator and mediator. A university trained negotiator, Ilona has been able to bring these skills to her work in real estate as well as to various nonprofit agencies within the larger community. She is highly skilled at bringing buyers and sellers together to agree and implement successful resolutions in potentially, or actively divisive situations. 

With her European flair, she was born and raised in Germany, and with her education in Theater, she is able to help sellers to stage and present their home in the best and most attractive light.

Ilona has built a large and loyal client base by providing rigorous and professional customer service. She is well known and appreciated within the community for her hard work and integrity, her knowledge of the market and her ability to create win-win situations for all participants.  Her expertise ranges from new construction buildings to one families, multi-families, and condos.  She has worked closely with developers and as the sales director has overseen the marketing of ONE FIRST, a 200 unit condominium complex in East Cambridge.

In her three terms as president of the Cambridge Council of Realtors Ilona was instrumental in developing a mutually beneficial relationship between the private and public sectors. This alliance brought together realtors, banks, public agencies, and private citizens to address issues of diversity and affordable housing.  By addressing these important issues she has helped heightened the awareness of the Cambridge Real Este community to the necessity of giving back to the Community. Years later, one organization which Ilona co-founded, the Cambridge Housing Assistance Fund (CHAF) continues to thrive and serve Cambridge.

Ilona has been honored by her Business and Real Estate peers by being awarded some of their most prestigious awards including: 

• Business Person of the Year 2000 from the Cambridge of Commerce 
• Realtor of the Year GBRB 2001

Ilona lives in the South End in Boston which reminds her of Germany, but has loved bringing up her daughter in the beautiful and exiting Cambridge.
